The Green Schools Initiative

Current stage: Active program

The Green Schools Initiative is a transformative, child-centered climate and digital empowerment program designed to strengthen climate literacy, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable innovation across the Kigezi region of Uganda.

The project directly responds to growing environmental degradation, climate variability, food insecurity, digital exclusion, and limited youth participation in climate governance. By positioning schools as hubs of climate action and innovation, the initiative empowers children not only to understand climate challenges but to actively design solutions.
